Azerbaijan to Appeal to UEFA Over Flag Raising Incident During Armenia-Croatia Match

The Azerbaijan Football Federation will appeal to UEFA regarding what it calls a "provocation by Armenians" during the Euro 2024 qualifying match between Armenia and Croatia, said Elnur Mamedli, head of the federation's press service, to Azerbaijani media.

During the match held in Yerevan, the flag of Artsakh was raised with a drone over the Vazgen Sargsyan Republican Stadium. The match was briefly interrupted as a result.

Earlier reports indicated that towards the end of the first half of the Armenia-Croatia football match, the flag of Artsakh was seen flying in the air above the pitch.
