Andranik Karapetyan Wins Small Gold Medal at Weightlifting World Championships

Member of the Armenian weightlifting team, Andranik Karapetyan, has won a small gold medal at the World Championships.

Competing in the men's 89 kg category at the weightlifting World Championships held in Saudi Arabia, Andranik Karapetyan successfully lifted 150 kg in the snatch, followed by 175 kg. He secured the small gold medal in this event. In the clean and jerk, the Armenian weightlifter lifted 192 kg and 202 kg in two attempts. With a total lift of 377 kg, he finished in 4th place.

Earlier, in the 67 kg category, Gohar Sahakyan had brought home a bronze medal for Armenia, while Rafik Harutyunyan won a small bronze medal.
