Ukraine Receives First Batch of Nuclear Fuel from the US

Ukrainian Energy Minister German Galushchenko has announced that the Ukrainian state-owned company Energoatom has received its first batch of nuclear fuel, produced by the American company Westinghouse in collaboration with Ukrainian specialists. This was reported by Kommersant.

“Today, Energoatom has loaded fuel into the 440th reactors for the first time,” Mr. Galushchenko stated during a live broadcast. The Energy Minister added that Ukraine has already signed cooperation agreements with Finland, the Czech Republic, and Slovakia to fully replace Russian Federation supplies in the nuclear fuel production sector.
