Ukraine Has 30-45 Days Left to Complete Counteroffensive: General Mark Milley
Ukraine has 30-45 days left to complete its counteroffensive, according to General Mark Milley, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff of the U.S. armed forces. In an interview with BBC, Milley stated that as autumn weather begins, it will become more difficult for the Ukrainian Armed Forces to maneuver.
He also noted that the Ukrainian army is advancing, albeit slower than anticipated. “Heavy fighting continues. The Ukrainians are fighting and making steady progress,” Milley stated.
It is worth mentioning that Ukraine's counteroffensive began in early summer, but since then, Ukrainian forces have only managed to liberate a small portion of territory in the south of the country. However, the Ukrainian Armed Forces have claimed to have breached the first line of the Russian army and consolidated their positions in the Zaporizhzhia region.
“I said from the beginning that this war would be long, slow, and heavy, with a significant number of casualties. That is exactly what is happening,” Milley concluded.
