Until the State Order Issue is Resolved, Children Can Use Paid Services: Director of Sevan Medical Center

Today, Facebook user Nune Sahakyan raised a question about whether the Sevan Rehabilitation Center is closing. "The director of Sevan Medical Center responds that the Ministry of Health has provided very little funding and that amount is insufficient for utilizing state services; instead, children can attend on a paid basis. This is the entire issue – why provide state services if there is a paid option, but they do not consider that not all parents can afford these expenses, not to mention what significant extra costs some of these children incur," she stated.

In an interview with Aysor.am, Aram Nikoghosyan, director of Sevan Medical Center, clarified that the rehabilitation center is not closing. "I have said that the state order has ended, and it can operate on a paid basis until the issue of state orders is resolved."

In response to the media’s question regarding parents whose children cannot utilize paid services and whether they can wait until the state order issue is resolved, the director replied, "They can register; it is not a matter of life and death, as they all come for speech therapy and psychological services. Therefore, they can register. Everyone is aware – the governor and the minister."

The director explained that previously the center was funded by the 'Gimishyan' foundation, but now it is not funding the state order part, leading to the decline in such support.

A representative from the Ministry of Health stated that they would comment on the current situation a bit later.
