Video: Camera Captures Armenian Mouflons in Zangezur Sanctuary

The Armenian mouflons were recorded during the ongoing monitoring carried out on September 1 in the "Zangezur" Nature Reserve, part of the "Zangezur" biosphere complex. This information was shared on the Ministry of Environment's Facebook page.

The Armenian mouflon (scientific name: Ovis orientalis gmelini) is listed in the former USSR Red Book. The species is included in the IUCN Red List (ver. 3.1) with a status of "Vulnerable A2cde." According to the criteria of the IUCN Red List, the subspecies is assessed as "endangered."
