Gunshots in Yerevan: Automatic Weapon and Fired Bullets Found Near Hotel Complex

On September 3, gunshots were reported in Yerevan. Around 3:30 AM, the operational management center of the RA Ministry of Internal Affairs received a call indicating that gunshots were heard near the 'Paradise' hotel complex located adjacent to the 'Asala' bakery on Tamantsiner Street. This was reported by shamshyan.com.

Upon arriving at the scene, police officers and patrols discovered an AKS-type automatic weapon, four 7.62 caliber bullets, and twelve cartridges. While an investigative team worked at the site, officers from the Criminal Investigation Department of the Shengavit Police Department arrested three individuals on suspicion of hooliganism at the address 57 Tamantsiner Street.

According to sources, the arrested are 29-year-old Hrayr Lalayan, 29-year-old Ashot Sargsyan, and 25-year-old Gevorg Ginosyan, all residents of Yerevan. Under pressure of the evidence, H. Lalayan admitted to firing shots from the seized automatic weapon. The individuals and the weapon used in the crime have been presented to the Shengavit Investigative Division, where a criminal case has been initiated based on the incident.

Notice: The suspect in the alleged crime is considered innocent until proven guilty in accordance with the Criminal Procedure Code of the Republic of Armenia, by a legally binding court decision.
