Explosion in Apartment Bathroom in Yerevan Involves Electric Motorcycle; One Injured
An explosion occurred in an apartment on the 4th floor of building number 167 on Arno Babajanyan Street in Yerevan, according to the Ministry of Emergency Situations.
The National Center for Crisis Management received the call on September 2 at 21:32, reporting smoke emanating from one of the apartments on the 4th floor of the building.
Two fire-fighting units and a fire ladder from the rescue department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations in Yerevan were dispatched to the scene, along with teams from the operational division of the National Crisis Management Center and the Fire Suppression and Rescue Operations Organization.
It was determined that an electric motorcycle had exploded in the apartment's bathroom; the external wall of the balcony (approximately 10 square meters) collapsed, the windows of the bedroom were shattered, and the household items were damaged, as well as a parked Hyundai vehicle outside.
Before the rescuers arrived, a resident of the house, A. Kh. (born in 1989), sustained varying degrees of burns and was hospitalized in a medical center, where doctors assessed the injured person's condition as serious.
