Video: Man Strikes Police Officer Near Police Station, Law Enforcement Clarification
A video has circulated online regarding an incident at the Shengavit Police Station. On August 31, at 1:40 AM, police patrols detained a 45-year-old man from Hrazdan City on Tamancini Street due to threats of murder, after he threatened a woman with a knife during a dispute.
The suspect was transported to the Shengavit Police Station, where he struck a police officer near the entrance and threw the knife to the ground. Inside the police station, the man exhibited aggressive behavior, breaking windows in the hallway and injuring his hand in the process.
Emergency services were called in to assist the man. The relevant documentation has been forwarded to the investigative department. The knife was recovered and confiscated. By the investigator's decision, the man was moved to a detention facility.
To ascertain the legality of the police actions and investigate any potential disciplinary violations, the Ministry of Internal Affairs’ Internal Security Department is conducting a service review regarding the incident. Additional information will be provided on the results.
