Surena Papikyan and Iran's Newly Appointed Ambassador Meet
The Minister of Defense of Armenia, Surena Papikyan, has discussed regional security issues with the newly appointed Iranian Ambassador. This was reported by the Ministry of Defense of Armenia.
It was noted that Surena Papikyan received Mehdi Sobhani, the newly appointed extraordinary and plenipotentiary ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Armenia, on September 1. The meeting was also attended by Colonel Bahman Sadeghineh, the military attaché of the Iranian embassy in Armenia.
"During the meeting, issues related to Armenian-Iranian cooperation, as well as regional security matters, were discussed. The Minister of Defense presented details regarding the Azerbaijani provocation towards Sotk on September 1 to the ambassador," the statement said.
