Officials from the Ministry of Defense Questioned in the Vachagan Ghazaryan Case

The newspaper "Zhoghovurd" reports that according to its sources, officials including the former Minister and Deputy Ministers of Defense have been summoned by the National Security Service (NSS) in connection with the criminal case of Vachagan Ghazaryan, the former head of President Serzh Sargsyan's security service. They have been interrogated and confronted with Ghazaryan.

Furthermore, we previously reported that the NSS has detained the former head of capital construction and housing and communal services of the Ministry of Defense, Colonel Armen Sargsyan, in relation to Ghazaryan's criminal case. Notably, he is a classmate of Marshal Vazgen Sargsyan.

Recall that Vachagan Ghazaryan was arrested five years ago, on June 25, while leaving a bank. He was found in possession of $120,000 and 436 million drams in his suitcase. It is known that the NSS is currently conducting a criminal investigation regarding the illegal sale of land by the Ministry of Defense, and Ghazaryan has been detained within the framework of this investigation.
