“Mom, is there bread at home that you put aside for me?” - An Artsakh child to his mother
Today, a new academic year began in Artsakh, but under the heavy conditions created by the Azerbaijani genocidal blockade, without adequate school supplies, educational materials, food, hygiene products, and other necessities. Political figure Artak Beglaryan wrote about this on his Facebook page.
“Many children have been unable to attend school due to a lack of clothing, transportation, and other conditions. One of my relatives witnessed an incident today: a mother was accompanying her first grader to school and said on the way, ‘My dear, there is a piece of bread in your backpack. When you get hungry, you can eat it.’ The child asked, ‘Mom, is there bread at home that you put aside for me?’
Congratulations on Knowledge and Education Day, regardless of the circumstances. Today is an important occasion to highlight the numerous gross violations of the rights of children in Artsakh, which are gradually leading to irreparable consequences.”
