VIDEO. Pashinyan Sees Exit from Current Situation through Baku-Stepanakert Dialogue

“Azerbaijan continues its policy of genocide against the people of Artsakh through starvation, despite the presence of Russian peacekeeping forces. The main aim of this policy is to rid the Artsakh region of Armenians,” stated Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.

He recalled that one of the scenarios of this monstrous plan involves Azerbaijan planning to unilaterally open the Lachin corridor during the most acute humanitarian crisis, allowing people to leave Artsakh and prohibiting their return. “This policy of genocide and dispossession is taking place in the 21st century, in front of the international community,” he noted.

The Prime Minister emphasized that he sees the exit from the current situation through dialogue between Baku and Stepanakert. “I must underscore that an international mechanism is vitally necessary in this situation; otherwise, as we have seen, Baku is sabotaging all possible avenues for dialogue by any means available,” Pashinyan said.

He highlighted the importance of efforts to draw international attention to the humanitarian crisis established in Artsakh, basing this on the decisions of the International Court of Justice. “We must tirelessly advance the idea of sending a humanitarian fact-finding mission to the Lachin corridor and Artsakh because it is absolutely necessary at this moment. Of course, addressing the urgent humanitarian needs in Artsakh remains our priority and primary issue, ensuring the delivery and access of humanitarian supplies is vital,” he concluded.
