Gunfire Reported in Vanadzor Today, One Injured

In the Lori region, today, August 31, gunfire was reported. Around 16:50, the operational control center of the Lori Regional Police Department received a call about shots fired near a funeral home on Agayan Street in Vanadzor.

According to Shamshyan.com, police and investigators discovered 9 cartridges fired from various types of firearms at the scene. While an investigative team was working on-site, the Vanadzor Medical Center notified the Bazum Police Department that a citizen with gunshot wounds to the leg had been brought to them.

The police operational group that arrived at the hospital was informed by the doctors that the injured individual was in surgery and unable to provide an explanation about the incident.

Currently, investigators are conducting an examination at the scene, and forensic experts from the Lori Regional Police Department are also working alongside them. The police and the investigative unit are determining the identity of the injured person and whether there are any other victims.

Handguns of types “TT,” “Makarov,” and an automatic rifle were used at the scene.
