Trump's Trial for Attempted Power Grab to Begin on the Eve of Presidential Elections
The trial of former U.S. President Donald Trump for his attempted power grab will begin on March 4, 2024. This was reported by CNN.
Trump's defense team had requested to postpone the hearings until 2026, while the prosecution sought to initiate them earlier, in January 2024.
The trial will commence during the height of the presidential primaries scheduled to take place from January to June.
The former president is currently facing three additional criminal cases, including falsifying business records, illegal retention of classified documents, and attempting to falsify election results.
Trump remains the leading candidate in the Republican presidential race. Even if convicted, this will not prevent him from participating in the elections.
