Ukrainian Side Attacks Russian Kursk Airport with Drones: Media

The Security Service of Ukraine's counterintelligence launched an attack on Russia's Kursk airport on the night of August 27. Russian aircraft and air defense systems are located there. This information was reported by RBC Ukraine, citing sources within the Security Service of Ukraine.

Sources indicated that kamikaze drones targeted four Su-30 and one MiG-29 fighter jets. Among the targeted facilities were also S-300 complex radars and two Pantsir systems. According to the media, nearly all of the reconnaissance drones reached their targets, and preliminary information suggests that only three were shot down by Russian air defenses.

“Given that the Russians themselves acknowledged at least 13 explosions, the operation seems to have been impressive. The exact consequences of the strikes and the number of casualties will be known in the near future,” the service added. It was noted that the operation was conducted by personnel from the military counterintelligence of the 13th Main Directorate.
