Successful Testing of Laser Cannon Conducted in Russia

Successful testing of a laser cannon has been conducted at one of Russia's military training grounds. This was reported by RIA Novosti, citing informed sources.

“A combat laser designed for the destruction of drones has been successfully tested at one of the Russian military training grounds. The laser cannon demonstrated high effectiveness in neutralizing drones within close range,” said a source from the agency.

According to the source, during the tests, the infrared spectrum combat laser achieved physical destruction of drones by burning, specifically targeting the aerodynamic surfaces or the structure of the equipment as a whole. “Both aircraft-type and quadcopter drones were destroyed during the tests,” he clarified.

It should be noted that leading countries around the world are actively working on tactical laser systems for striking and neutralizing targets, specifically focusing on drones and munitions in close proximity.
