Trump Posts Mugshot on Twitter After Surrendering to Authorities

Former U.S. President Donald Trump arrived at the Fulton County Jail in Georgia on Thursday to surrender to authorities as part of the official process for being booked for election interference. CNN broadcast Trump's arrival live from the police station.

Trump's motorcade, consisting of 10 vehicles, reached the jail at 7:34 PM local time (5:34 AM Yerevan time), shortly after landing at Atlanta Airport. It is known that he would be searched, have his mugshot taken, and fingerprints collected while in custody. Earlier, his lawyers were able to negotiate terms for his release on a $200,000 bond with the prosecutor.

After arriving at the Fulton County Jail, Trump was officially booked. His personal information, including name, age, residence address, physical description, and charges, was published on the Fulton County Jail's official website, where he was designated inmate number P01135809.

However, shortly after Trump's arrival, CNN reported that he had left the jail after spending approximately 20 minutes inside, at which point his motorcade headed back to Atlanta Airport.

Additionally, after a long hiatus, Trump's first post featured his mugshot taken by staff at the Fulton County Jail, where he is seen in a blue suit. This photo has become historic as no former or current U.S. president has ever been photographed in such a manner before.

One hour after Trump's post, it garnered 16 million views. Within the first hour of publication, the post received over 80,000 comments, more than 143,000 shares, and over 335,000 likes.
