US Imposes Sanctions Against Ramzan Kadyrov's Mother: The Reason Revealed
The US Department of the Treasury has announced new anti-Russian sanctions, initially announced by President Joe Biden. The list includes 11 individuals and the "Artek" International Children's Center in Crimea. Among those sanctioned is Ramzan Kadyrov's mother, Aiman Kadyrova, Chechnya's Ombudsman Mansur Soltaev, and the head of the country's government, Muslim Khuchiyev.
Additionally, the sanctions list includes Konstantin Fedorenko, director of "Artek"; Zamid Chalayev, commander of the special unit of the Ministry of Internal Affairs named after Akhmat Kadyrov; Vladimir Kovalenko, chief of staff of the Sevastopol regional department of Yunarmia; Vladimir Nechaev, rector of Sevastopol State University; Irina Cherkasova, Children's Rights Commissioner of Rostov Oblast; Irina Ageeva, Children's Rights Commissioner in Kaluga Oblast; Galina Pyatikh, Children's Rights Commissioner of Belgorod Oblast; and Elena Shapurova, Minister of Education and Science of the Zaporizhzhia region.
Maria Zakharova, official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, criticized the US decision to include the "Artek" children's center in the sanctions list on her Telegram channel. "Now, if this were a camp for minors undergoing gender transition or a hub for the exchange of experiences among transgender communities, Washington would flood it with multi-million dollar grants and all sorts of awards in various categories. However, this is an educational complex that upholds the pure concept of childhood and provides conditions for the healthy rest and development of children. Who would find this appealing among those promoting moral distortions?" she emphasized.
Ukraine and several Western countries accuse Russia of deporting Ukrainian children from occupied territories. Moscow insists that the children were evacuated from dangerous areas and does not consider it deportation. Russian authorities have also stated that they are facilitating the return of children to their families. Ukraine has developed a program for the return of children, which includes both the return of their children and their reintegration after staying in Russia.
