New Shorter Road from Yerevan to Syunik to Be Built in One Month
The new shorter road from Yerevan to Syunik will be fully constructed in one month. This was announced by Gnel Sanosyan, the Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure of Armenia, during a government meeting.
The new road, starting from the village of Tatev, will not go through the mountainous bends towards the village of Shinuhayr but will instead lead to the villages of Shamb and Noravan, bringing it closer to the city of Sisian. Currently, the new road is open to all vehicles except trucks, to allow construction workers to complete the work more quickly.
This new route will be shorter both in kilometers and in travel time, reducing the journey from Kapan to Yerevan by approximately one hour.
Simultaneously, the local roads, which are farther away from the main highways and pass through villages, will also be renovated.
