Most Likely Theory is That Prigozhin's Crash Was Staged by Russia's FSB - BBC
The crash involving Prigozhin is believed to have been orchestrated by Russia's Federal Security Service (FSB). This was stated by British military sources in an interview with BBC security correspondent Frank Gardner.
"They consider it the most likely theory that the crash involving Prigozhin was staged by the FSB. They are entirely loyal to Putin, and at the same time, the border service is subordinate to them," the sources noted.
According to the website, in their opinion, the purpose of this may have been to strengthen the positions of Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu and Chief of the General Staff Valery Gerasimov, and this objective was achieved in the short term.
It has also been reported that the investigation is considering the possibility of an explosive device being involved. This was reported by Shot, whose source claims that the explosion theory is currently being "verified."
It is worth noting that the business jet belonging to Yevgeny Prigozhin, the founder of the Wagner Group, crashed near the village of Kuzhenkino in the Tver region on the evening of August 23. It was en route from Moscow to St. Petersburg. Russian media outlets report that various theories regarding the plane's crash are being investigated, including "external interference."
