Samvel Martirosyan Warns of Increasing Scams

Media expert Samvel Martirosyan has warned users of list.am that scams have intensified again and explained their mechanisms.

“You receive messages via WhatsApp or Viber, claiming that they live far away and need to use a certain service to send a product. They send you a fake link, a website that pretends to be Yandex, ‘Haypost’ or some other courier service. If you look carefully at the website address, you will see that it's a completely different site, not the real one. If you are not cautious, they will ask for your banking card details. And you will say goodbye to all your money,” he stated.

According to Martirosyan, those who have already fallen victim to fraud should block their bank cards and report to the police. However, he emphasized that victims of scams should not harbor high hopes of getting their money back.
