Helen Dadayan's Body Has Been in Goris for 8 Days: Open Letter from Helen's Uncle
On the Yerevan-Gyumri highway, near the village of Lanjik, a tragic car accident on August 14 claimed the lives of 11 people. Helen Dadayan's uncle, Musheg Safaryan, has sent an open letter to the authorities of Artsakh and the Armenian public.
“I, Musheg Safaryan, Helen Dadayan's uncle, appeal to the Armenian people, to the authorities of Artsakh, to Araik Harutyunyan, and Gurgin Nersisyan. It has been 8 days since the body of Helen Dadayan, a student of Eurasia University and a resident of Chartar, has been in Goris. During these days, numerous protests have taken place in Yerevan, Artsakh, and at the Red Cross, which has not only failed to transfer the body but also lies every day. It has participated and carried out these inhumane atrocities without realizing that the only international organization capable of resolving the created inhumane situation is involved.
I call on the Red Cross and demand that it be closed and the Turkish Red Cross branch be expelled from Artsakh immediately, no later than today or tomorrow. This organization has failed and continues to fail its primary mission according to the Geneva Conventions; in fact, the Turkish Red Cross in Artsakh clearly carries out the directives of Azerbaijan’s authorities and security forces. It is evident that the Turkish Red Cross is not only failing and deviating from its primary mission but also poses a clear threat to the security of Artsakh.
To avoid further bloodshed, please consider my appeal as a report of a crime. I urge the national security and prosecutor's office of Artsakh to perform their constitutionally and legally assigned functions and take appropriate measures to prevent the activities and crimes of the most dangerous Azerbaijani diversion groups,” the letter states.
