In Yerevan, Trio Fails to Deceive Patrol Officers; Large Quantity of Drugs Discovered
Today, on August 21, officers of the Patrol Service of the Police of the Republic of Armenia stopped an Opel car for inspection around 15:30 in the Shengavit administrative district. According to shamshyan.com, the three passengers in the vehicle exhibited strange behavior, which raised suspicion and proved to be justified.
During a personal search of one of the individuals, 29-year-old Onik H. from Yerevan, who was the driver, a metallic box marked 'Ararat' was discovered, containing 15 packages wrapped in black tape. The individuals, along with the vehicle, were arrested by the patrol officers on suspicion of illegal possession and use of narcotics and were taken to the Shengavit Police Station.
It was found that the metallic box contained approximately 11.93 grams of a substance resembling methamphetamine, while a cigarette box in Onik H.'s hand contained a packet covered with a chip lock, weighing 1.26 grams, also resembling methamphetamine. Among the passengers, 50-year-old Manuk M. from Yerevan was found to have a glass vial with ash residue.
The Opel has been transported to the protected area of the Shengavit Police Station. Documents regarding the incident have been drawn up at the Shengavit Police Station and forwarded to the Investigative Committee of Armenia's Yerevan City Investigation Department, where a criminal case has been initiated based on the incident. The other passenger, 21-year-old Sh. M. from Lori Province, was found to have nothing on him.
