VIDEO: Protest at the Red Cross as Artsakh parent seeks to bid farewell to deceased child

A group of citizens is staging a protest today outside the office of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) in Armenia. They are demanding immediate action from the committee regarding the transportation of the body of Helen Dadayan, who tragically lost her life in an accident on the Yerevan-Gyumri highway near the village of Lanjik on August 14, which claimed the lives of 11 people.

Baku is refusing to allow Helen's body to be transported to Artsakh, and the Red Cross has not disclosed the reasons provided by Azerbaijan.

“We are still at the Red Cross,” writes one of the participants in the protest on social media.

It is noteworthy that Helen Dadayan was from the town of Chartar in Martuni. She had been cut off from Artsakh for nine months due to the complete blockade of the region.

“As you know, Azerbaijan has not allowed the transfer of the body of Artsakh citizen Helen Dadayan, who died in an accident a few days ago, despite the preliminary agreement. The situation in front of the Red Cross is very tense; numerous police forces have arrived, demanding that people disperse, stating that otherwise, they have permission to use force,” wrote user Lilit Borisovna.
