Czech Republic to Deliver Helicopters to Ukraine
The Czech Republic is receiving new helicopters from the United States and plans to decommission its old Mi-24V helicopters to transfer them to Ukraine, said Czech Defense Minister Jana Černochová.
According to her, the Mi-24V/35 helicopters have performed excellently, although they have served longer than expected. The Czech Republic will receive UH-1Y Venom and AH-1Z Viper helicopters from the U.S.
“Even if we symbolically say goodbye to them today, their story will definitely not end; we will certainly find a use for these helicopters,” she stated. The Minister did not specify how many helicopters are being discussed. She clarified that the Czech Republic also needs spare parts for Mi-series helicopters. These parts are on sanction lists, making them difficult to acquire.
