Earlier, NBC News, citing the governor of Hawaii, reported that the number of victims had reached a record 89, making these wildfires the deadliest in US history.

It should be noted that the forest fires in Maui and the Big Island initiated due to dry and hot weather conditions and spread due to strong winds brought by Tropical Storm Dora. Some fire zones have reached up to 400 hectares. The fire has destroyed several communities, including the popular tourist town of Lahaina. Hundreds of people have been evacuated.

President Joe Biden has ordered all federal agencies, including military forces, to join in the fight against the fires in Hawaii.
