Soldier Granik Khinkoyan Found Dead with Gunshot Wound to the Head: Investigative Committee

On August 11, 2023, the body of mandatory military service soldier, Private Granik Khinkoyan, was discovered at the back of the vehicle collection area of the N military unit in Armenia, with a gunshot wound to the head.

According to the Republic of Armenia Investigative Committee, a criminal case has been initiated in the eighth garrison investigative department of the military investigative main department under the criteria of Article 523, Part 1 of the RA Criminal Code.

During the investigation, examinations have been appointed. An investigation is underway. Urgent evidential and procedural actions are being undertaken to clarify the circumstances of the incident.

Notice: A person accused of a crime is presumed innocent until proven guilty in accordance with the procedural law established by the RA Criminal Procedure Code, with a court ruling that has entered into legal force.
