Armenia Calls for Urgent UN Security Council Meeting on Nagorno-Karabakh Issues

Armenia has requested the United Nations Security Council to convene an emergency meeting concerning the blockade of the Lachin corridor by Azerbaijan and the resulting deterioration of the humanitarian situation. The request was published on the UN's Twitter account.

"The Government of Armenia seeks the intervention of the UN Security Council, the main body responsible for maintaining international peace and security, to prevent mass atrocities, including war crimes, ethnic cleansing, crimes against humanity, and genocide," the letter states.

This was also announced by Armenia's special envoy, Edmon Marukyan, on his Facebook page.
