VIDEO: 'We open the faucet, and poison comes out instead of water' say residents of Noragavit community

'We open the faucet, and poison comes out instead of water': This is what residents of the Noragavit neighborhood in Yerevan's Shengavit administrative district are saying.

The residents of this area have flooded the internet with photos and videos of rusty drinking water. According to them, water outages have become frequent lately, and after these disruptions, the water is undrinkable.

They are forced to buy bottled water from stores. Residents have repeatedly reported the issue and have contacted 'Veolia Water', but no changes have occurred.

In an interview with Auroranews, one resident of Noragavit stated that children are suffering from intestinal infections; just yesterday, she left Muratsan Hospital with her 6-month-old daughter.

'The hot water smells rotten; you can’t even tell what kind of water it is,' she noted.

Our conversation with the resident took place last night around 11 PM. She mentioned that the problem had been prevalent since 7 PM. Even close to midnight, the smell and taste of the water remain unbearable, the resident added.
