Hajizade Confirms Kommersant's Publication
Today, the Russian newspaper Kommersant published an article stating that a preliminary agreement was reached regarding the use of the Aghdam-Stepanakert road by the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), in exchange for Azerbaijan enabling passage through the Lachin border checkpoint.
Commenting on the information, Hajizade, head of the press service of the Azerbaijani Ministry of Foreign Affairs, stated that due to the efforts of international partners, an agreement was indeed established for the ICRC to start using the Aghdam-Stepanakert road for cargo transportation. He added that 24 hours later, through the mediation of the ICRC, activation of the Lachin road would be ensured.
“In addition, based on the proposal from the Azerbaijani side, it was agreed to hold a meeting in Yevlakh between representatives of Azerbaijan and representatives from Nagorno-Karabakh, where all logistical issues were summarized. Despite all agreements, the representatives of Nagorno-Karabakh violated them at the last moment,” Hajizade stated, adding that Armenia is also not interested in peace and stability, as well as in dialogue in that direction.
