Go to Yards, Talk to People: Pashinyan Instructs Government Members

The Prime Minister of Armenia, Nikol Pashinyan, advised government members during today’s meeting to go out to yards, sit down, and talk to people without the framing of team-based planning and listen to their issues.

“In recent days, I have been in the regions, and this was not officially. I have noted issues that have not been recorded in any report or meeting. One of them is related to road maintenance, which, to say the least, is very poor. In the republic, there are edge markings that are buried under 7-8 cm of sand, and the drivable area is not properly marked. There are also road signs that have not changed since the 1990s. For example, the sign for Khor Virap is at least as old as I am. Furthermore, there are numerous potholes on the roads. Does it not occur to you what I should be occupied with regarding these matters?” emphasized Pashinyan in the meeting with government officials.

He advised, requested, and then instructed government members to visit neighborhoods from time to time, without prior planning, to sit and engage with people. According to him, many questions will arise during these interactions that could not be clarified through any other channels.

Pashinyan highlighted that he is even willing for government members to use their working days for this purpose. He emphasized that this should be done in casual attire and, in general, informally.
