Details of the Collision Involving the Trolleybus Serving Route 1

Today, on August 11, an emergency incident occurred in Yerevan. At around 17:45, the trolleybus serving route 1 exited the roadway on Koryun Street and collided with parked vehicles, including a Toyota Rav 4, a Nissan Rogue, and a Mercedes.

According to Shamshyan, due to the impact, the Mercedes moved forward and hit a Ford Fusion parked in the permissible zone. Following the collision, the trolleybus and the Nissan ended up on the pedestrian pavement, crashing into trees.

Fortunately, initial reports indicate that there were no injuries as a result of the accident. The police in Yerevan are preparing materials regarding the incident. Officers on site determined that the trolleybus was driven by 26-year-old Narek Gasparyan. The traffic police are identifying the owners of the damaged vehicles.

The cause of the accident was due to technical issues with the trolleybus, and if the driver had not oriented himself correctly, the trolleybus could have ended up among pedestrians due to loss of control caused by braking issues. Thankfully, due to the driver's correct actions, there were no casualties or injuries.

The driver was subjected to a sobriety test at the scene and was found to be sober.
