New Details on the Elevator 'Fall'

One of the cables from the elevator wheel came off, causing the elevator to descend rapidly. This was stated by Haik Kostanyan, spokesperson for the Mayor of Yerevan, in an interview with Auroranews.

‘The municipal economy department of the city hall has been informed that specialists will go to the scene tomorrow to address the issue,’ Kostanyan said.

The police reported that a citizen inside the elevator had suffered a health issue. The door was opened by local forces, and the citizen inside was hospitalized until rescuers arrived on the scene.

Earlier, it was reported that at 11/3 Argishti Street in Yerevan, the elevator fell to the first floor. The woman inside sustained injuries but fortunately survived.
