I Am Not Happy Defending the Person Who Defamed Me, But That Is the Reality: Serzh Sargsyan

The trial of Armenia's third president Serzh Sargsyan has resumed at the Yerevan Court of General Jurisdiction located in the Nor Nork administrative district.

Just moments ago, Sargsyan testified in court, stating: "Former Minister of Agriculture Sergo Karapetyan made the right decision, and had he not made such a decision, he would have been held responsible at that time and not now. I do not have much to say because the entire course of the trial has clearly proven that Sergo Karapetyan made the right decision, and if he had not made such a decision, he would have been held accountable then, not now. It is quite simple: this program could have been implemented by two companies, and he chose the company that offered a lower price. To be honest, I am not happy to defend the person who has defamed me, but that is the reality. I believe it has become clear to everyone why Sergo Karapetyan decided to give such testimony after several interrogations.”
