Singapore's Attention to the EAEU is a Catalyst for New Cooperation: Lukashenko
Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko believes that Singapore's interest in the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) can serve as a catalyst for exploring new avenues of cooperation.
"I think that Singapore's attention towards our regional integration project—the Eurasian Economic Union—will act as a catalyst for searching beneficial new directions for cooperation," Lukashenko stated in his congratulatory message to Singapore President Halimah Yacob on the occasion of the national day.
The head of state expressed confidence that the activation of dialogue between Minsk and Singapore, including issues related to trade, investment, and humanitarian cooperation, fully corresponds to mutual interests.
"Over the years of sovereignty, your country has become the largest financial center in Southeast Asia, leading the way in fields such as electronic industry, information technology, and pharmaceuticals," Lukashenko noted.
The Eurasian Economic Union is an international economic integration organization that has been operational since January 1, 2015. Its members include Russia, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, and Kyrgyzstan.
