The death toll from the flooding in Beijing has reached 33, with an additional 18 people reported missing. This news comes from the Telegram channel, Комсомольская правда.
Previously, authorities had reported 11 fatalities and 27 people unaccounted for. The extraordinary situation has led to the destruction of approximately 59,000 buildings, with another 147,000 homes damaged.
It should be noted that heavy rainfall has hit Beijing from July 29 to August 1, an event not seen in the last 140 years. Record amounts of precipitation have been recorded in some areas, surpassing 740 mm.
