If Pashinyan Does Not Accept Us in September, We Swear We Will Take Extreme Measures: Parents of the Missing
“We, as parents, have decided to postpone our protest for one month. If by mid-September, Pashinyan and his team do not accept us and answer our questions, we swear we will take extreme measures,” the parents of missing soldiers from the 'Khimikner' military unit in Ejmiatsin told Oragir.News today.
“We blocked Baghramyan Avenue twice, sat for hours at the National Assembly and the Government building, but Pashinyan did not deign to meet us; instead, he sent provocateurs to Baghramyan. One of them was a person who had risen to the platform during their revolution and presented himself as a hero’s grandfather, who came to Baghramyan Avenue and suggested going to Baku to hold a protest. This was yet another insolence from the authorities,” said the mother of one of the missing soldiers.
“We realized that Nikol does not care about the Armenian people; for him, it’s only his family, no one else matters. If half of the 'Khimikner' were LGBT or drug addicts, this issue would be resolved. In that case, they wouldn’t even let them go into combat operations. We have decided that if by mid-September, Nikol and the other officials do not accept us, then this time not only will we be organizing protests as parents, but also with our families, neighbors, relatives, villages, and communities. Nikol, we are coming after you, and you will have to answer, whether you like it or not.”
It is noteworthy that in October 2020, 60 soldiers from Ejmiatsin’s military unit N had gone to Kovsakan (Zangelan) to participate in combat operations, but as relatives claimed, they found themselves encircled due to a wrong order. Some managed to escape the encirclement, while over 30 soldiers are still considered missing to this day.
