Gunshots Heard in Tavush Province: Shooter Found to be Intoxicated
On August 5, gunshots were reported in Tavush Province. The Armenian Ministry of Internal Affairs received operational information through the Dilijan Police Department, indicating that shots were fired from a Nissan Sentra vehicle moving through the administrative area of the HaГiрtsin settlement in the enlarged community of Dilijan. The passenger of the vehicle, 39-year-old Karen Baghdikian from Yerevan, presented his registered firearm to the police upon their verbal request, which contained one bullet and a magazine loaded with two bullets. It was revealed that the gun was legally owned by him.
According to sources, he stated that the firearm was in his hand while he was leaning out of the car window.
In connection with the incident, documents were prepared at the Dilijan Police Department, and Baghdikian was brought along with the documents to the Tavush Regional Investigative Department of the Armenian Investigative Committee, where proceedings were initiated regarding the incident.
He underwent a sobriety test, which confirmed that he was intoxicated. By the investigator's directive, the Nissan Sentra was transferred to a secured area of the Dilijan Police Department.
