VIDEO. 'Wash your mouth with myrrh, then speak our boys’ names': Mother of fallen soldier towards Nikol Pashinyan
Our boys died for the homeland, and we will not allow it to be sold or treated as a commodity. This statement was made by Arus Harutyunyan, a member of the 'Call of Children' NGO and mother of a fallen soldier, during a press conference addressing Nikol Pashinyan's recent remarks about the fallen soldiers.
'Every time the man and woman (Nikol Pashinyan and Anna Hakobyan - ed.) refer to the fallen boys, there is a well-known saying: wash your mouth with myrrh, then speak our boys' names. For what peace did these boys die, when 120,000 people are starving to death? We do not need your peace; we are not begging for peace. Today, people are being stolen from your borders; for what peace did our boys die?' declared the mother of the fallen soldier.
Ashot Zakaryan, the father of another fallen soldier, was angered by Pashinyan's statement that the boys died for future peace. He insisted that their sons did not die for the peace imposed by Aliyev today. The father noted that the boys did not surrender their lives for the sake of Pashinyan's so-called peace.
Garik Galeyan, the father of Mikhtiar Galeyan, also directed remarks at Pashinyan, stating: 'First, let me say that Nikol Pashinyan is not the prime minister for me. He vilely declared that we have no homeland and that our boys died for future peace, meaning we have no homeland. Why did you take our boys and send them to their deaths for the sake of future peace? We do not want future peace without a homeland. Without a homeland, what peace is there?'
It is noteworthy that in an interview with Euronews, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated that it is very difficult to explain to people that their child died for future peace, asking how one can explain that it is possible to die for peace when our goal is peace.
