VIDEO: Intoxicated Driver Offers Bribe to Police
The police have repeatedly warned against the detrimental practice of offering and accepting bribes; however, incidents continue to be recorded.
Today, patrol officers from the 1st platoon of the 4th battalion of the Yerevan police stopped a "Mercedes" vehicle on Tamantsin Street for a check. It was determined that the driver was under the influence of alcohol.
While the report was being prepared, the driver offered the officers $100 and requested that no report be filed. Despite the requirement to refrain from illegal actions, the driver managed to place the money in one of the officers' pockets.
Under suspicion of bribery, the patrol officers arrested the 54-year-old man from Artashat and transported him to the Shengavit police department. The man has been referred to the Anti-Corruption Committee. A criminal case has been initiated, and circumstances are being clarified during the investigation.
