Taxi Driver Approaches Police, Reports Pregnant Passenger in Pain

An extraordinary incident occurred in Yerevan, according to Shamshyan.com. On August 2, around 8:00 PM, police officers Narek Davtyan and junior officer Artashes Kostanyan from the first platoon of the first battalion of the Yerevan patrol division were on duty in the Nor Nork administrative district on Davit Bek Avenue when the driver of a Peugeot approached them.

The driver informed the officers that he was driving a taxi and that his passenger was pregnant and experiencing pains. The police relayed this information to battalion commander Aram Dadoyan, who ordered the transfer of the woman from the Peugeot to the patrol service vehicle.

The officers transported the woman to the Erebuni Medical Center's maternity unit, where the medical staff managed to provide her with first aid, and shortly thereafter, the 32-year-old woman, Lusine K. from Lori Province, gave birth to twins.

The babies, a boy and a girl, will remain under medical supervision for a few days.
