Photos: Public Catering Facility Activity Suspended
The production activities of a public catering facility in the city of Kapan, Syunik Province, have been suspended. This information has been reported by the Inspection Body for Food Safety of the Republic of Armenia.
Inspectors from the Syunik regional center conducted checks at the public catering facility owned by individual entrepreneur Armen Harutyunyan and discovered violations of sanitary and hygienic requirements set forth by national and EAEU legal norms for this sector.
It was found that the restroom door of the public catering facility opens directly into the food processing room, is not connected to a functioning sewage system, lacks both natural and artificial ventilation, and the facility is not equipped with a sink, changing room for staff, or a designated storage area for cleaning and disinfecting agents.
Moreover, the walls of the food establishment do not have a smooth surface, are not made of waterproof, non-absorbent, cleanable materials, and accumulation of dirt, condensation of steam, growth of unwanted mold, and the possibility of particle debris being dropped are not being prevented.
It was also determined that staff who come into contact with food (2 employees) had not undergone mandatory initial and periodic medical examinations.
The production activities of the public catering facility have been suspended, and a deadline has been set for addressing the identified violations.
