Facebook Messenger Users Encounter Strange Message, Media Expert

Media expert and co-founder of CyberHUB-AM, Arthur Papyan, has reported on his Facebook page: "A number of Facebook Messenger users are seeing unusual messages when accessing the site via their computer browser today. Interestingly, the same users do not see this message when using the Messenger for Windows or Messenger for Mac applications on their phones or even their computers.

“I assume this is related to Meta's announcement that it intends to implement end-to-end encryption across all platforms. This is, of course, a very good and welcome initiative; however, issues have arisen because the addition of such encryption in computer browsers is still in an experimental phase. Naturally, this may cause problems for some users.

“There is no cause for alarm, as we have all been using Messenger for years without the possibility of end-to-end encryption. If you truly need a secure messenger, consider using Signal, Wire, Wikr, or one of the many other secure messaging options available."
