Driver and Passenger of Uninspected Car Found with Drugs

On the evening of July 31, police in the Gegharkunik region stopped an "Opel" vehicle that was operating without inspection in the area of the Sevan Peninsula. The 33-year-old driver, a resident of Yeghvard, displayed suspicious behavior.

Police arrested the driver and two passengers, aged 20 and 24 from Yerevan, on suspicion of illegal drug possession and use, and took them to the Sevan Police Department.

During the search of the driver, they discovered a brown, dried substance resembling marijuana, along with two polyethylene bags containing the same type of substance. The search of the 24-year-old passenger revealed another bag containing 4.6 grams of a marijuana-like substance and a greenish dried, crushed substance in a polyethylene bag.

The 33-year-old driver claimed that there were more drugs in the car.
