Video: Mosques Set on Fire in India, Fatalities Reported

The authorities in India have blocked internet access and deployed thousands of security forces and military personnel to the northern state of Haryana due to escalating ethnic violence.

As a result of the clashes, 5 people have been reported dead, and dozens have been injured amid religious conflicts between Hindus and Muslims. This unrest erupted during a rally organized by Hindu nationalist groups in an area predominantly inhabited by Muslims, according to the Indian publication Mint.

The clashes began after right-wing Hindu groups led a religious march in the Nuh district of Haryana, which is mainly populated by Muslims. Indian media report that Muslim residents were angered by the involvement of a certain Monasar, who is being pursued by police as a suspect in the murders of two Muslims.

The violence has resulted in the deaths of 12 individuals (including 2 police officers), the burning of over 20 shops, and more than 200 vehicles, including both passenger and cargo trucks. At least 2 mosques were also set ablaze, with one mosque's cleric attacked and killed during the incident.
