Video: I Don’t Even Know if My Father is Alive, Whether His Heart Has Endured or Not, Says the Daughter of the Kidnapped Artsakh Man

"I am alone here, on this side of the Hakari Bridge, my relatives are in Artsakh. Today, my hope is each of you; please do not leave me alone. Vagif Khachatryan embodies the entire Armenian nation. I ask all of you to stand by my side with your advice, with your strength," said Vera Khachatryan, daughter of Vagif Khachatryan, during a protest in front of the UN office.

Vera continued, "My father was being moved to Yerevan for heart surgery; he needed to undergo emergency surgery. All the patients were transferred to Armenia, only my father was kidnapped. We have no news about him, only that they said he is in a hospital in Baku.”

She denied a number of rumors circulating about her father, stating, "Azerbaijan presents facts that do not correspond to reality. Recently, they said that he was the driver of Samvel Babayan. Dear ones, that is false news. He is a rather balanced and reserved character. The photos circulating on the internet, allegedly of my father in his youth, are also not true; those are not pictures of my father.”

According to Vera Khachatryan, Vagif Khachatryan was in very serious health condition: "My father was in very poor health; he needed to undergo open surgery. Even now, I do not know if he is alive, whether his heart has endured or not," she said.

It is noted that on Saturday, Azerbaijan kidnapped Vagif Khachatryan, a 68-year-old resident of Artsakh, who was being transported to Armenia for treatment.
