ICRC: Your father did not wish to write a message or send it to you, says Vagif Khachatryan's daughter
Vagif Khachatryan, who was abducted by Azerbaijani border guards, did not wish to write a message or send it to his relatives. This was stated today, July 31, by his daughter Vera Khachatryan during a press briefing following a meeting with Thierry Ribot, head of the ICRC delegation in Armenia.
She noted that the family members have not been able to establish contact with their father until now. “As for the claim that the relatives have made contact with him, I can say that it is false – such a thing does not exist. They said that they would delete that message. At the same time, they said, your father refused and did not want to write a message or send it to you,” Vera Khachatryan stated.
Vera Khachatryan learned from the ICRC that they visited her father only on July 29. “They say that they are very sorry for what happened. They say that Azerbaijan had agreed that my father would cross the border, but they violated the promise,” Vera Khachatryan recounted.
