The Ombudsman's Office Visits the Beginning of the Lachin Corridor with Diplomats
The diplomatic corps accredited in Armenia and representatives of international organizations visited the Kornidzor settlement in the Syunik region today, July 28, at the beginning of the Lachin Corridor, where trucks carrying humanitarian aid have been stationary for several days. This was reported by the Office of the Human Rights Defender of the Republic of Armenia.
They were accompanied by the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Vahan Kostanyan and representatives of the Ombudsman’s Office, including the Chief Secretary Nina Pirumyan and International Cooperation Department Head Anna Karapetyan.
They toured the area and conducted border monitoring from a distance. The Deputy Ministers of Foreign Affairs, Health, Labor and Social Affairs, along with the staff of the Ombudsman’s Office, provided representatives of diplomatic missions accredited in Armenia and international organizations with general information about the situation.
Anna Karapetyan presented the ongoing fact-finding efforts being conducted by the Ombudsman regarding the issue. Additionally, the Ombudsman’s representative noted that the information gathered is regularly communicated to international organizations engaged in the protection of human rights, urging them to exert necessary efforts to eliminate the blockade of the Lachin Corridor.
