Hrant Dink's Family Lawyers Appeal to Turkey's Constitutional Court
The investigation by the Court of Cassation regarding 62 suspects in the murder case of Hrant Dink, the founder and editor-in-chief of the "Agos" newspaper, concluded in June. Since the Supreme Court confirmed the acquittal of some suspects and the expiration of their sentences, the lawyers for Dink's family have submitted an appeal to the Constitutional Court.
According to 1lurer.am, "Agos" reported that the lawyers emphasized the "right to know the truth" in their petition, detailing the errors and shortcomings in the judicial process. They stated, "It is clear that official documents that could assist in revealing the patterns of the murder have been falsified, required reports and information have not been sent to the court by public institutions, necessary evidence has not been collected, and it has not been possible to listen to state officials."
We recall that Hrant Dink was fatally shot on January 19, 2007, by Ogün Samast near the headquarters of his newspaper in Istanbul.
